On the collection birds, the lingerie designer has been inspired by the symbolic meaning and images of birds, especially the work of American writer Ted Andrews, whose books, such as the well-known Animal-speak, explore the mystical power of nature.
Marlies Dekkers creates an oriental-style print, where the mythical phoenix and the mysterious owl sit alongside the elegant crane - Asian symbol of peace and good fortune. Swirling foliage surrounds them on a twocolour print of peachy pink and Chinese red.
All styles of bra have printed moulded cups, with underband and fine elastic straps in Chinese red. These red straps are used to form a sensuous latticwork effect on the backs of the bras - each of the four creating a different pattern.To coordinate, there are three knickers - thong, tanga and hipster brief.
Look out also for a viscose/Lycra long-sleeved top in red, flock printed in pink with an asymmetric motiv of the owl.
